The Road to Lucknow

We packed up and made our way to our next stop Lucknow. We stopped at Starbucks for a little taste of America and then headed on our way out of Agra. It was a roughly 3 hour drive to Lucknow. We made a stop at probably the saddest "mall" I've ever been in and I've been in Country Club Lanes, Florin Mall, and Sunrise Mall! But inside was a hidden gem, MOC. MAD OVER CHICKEN! I ordered 12 chicken wings and chicken popcorn. All items were handed breaded, fried, and then dusted with some magic dust. This chicken was some if not the best chicken I have ever eaten!

The traffic in Lucknow may have been worse than Delh. It was crazy busy everywhere we drove on our way to the hotel two guys on a motorcycle waved us down and we thought maybe we clipped them. NOPE!! It was two guys from the finance company of the van we were driving in were supposedly following us from Delhi and they were not going to let us drive any further without a payment. This totally felt like a scam but also felt like something not too surprising for India. At one point the driver asked if we could let him borrow 6,000 rupees ($73) and the company will pay us back. We all did a collective "HELL NO". Finally after many phone calls and negotiating the driver gave the guys some money and they let us continue on. We asked him is the finance company even going to see the money and he said "probably not".

After that craziness we made it to our hotel. The family was tired of "fancy" food so our cousin who has been with us since day 2 said he knew were to get homemade food...Lulu Mall!

Lulu Mall is the largest mall in the area and one of the largest in the world. We were pretty sure what we were looking for wasn't here but he insisted. We finally made it to the food area and he pointed out a chain restaurant that was FAR from homemade. So instead we ended up at "Fancy" Indian food in the mall and it was meh.

Back to the hotel and then off to the fist village.
